About this one
The heaviest cloth we can get made. It does not fold, it hinges. Getting it on is a two-handed job for the first three weeks and the fade pattern that results is unlike anything a lighter weight produces. Buy it second, not first. Edge construction is undeclared until the certificate is on file.
Straight: One width from the knee to the hem. The reference block every other fit here is cut from.
Raw: Straight off the loom and never washed. It is stiff, it is a full size long, it shrinks when you wash it, and the fade pattern that ends up on it will be yours.
Care
- Wash it separately the first time. It will colour anything that is in the drum with it.
- Wash at 30 °C, cold to lukewarm.
- Turn it inside out first.
- Do not tumble dry. Hang it to dry instead.
- Leave it unwashed for as long as you are comfortable, then soak it cold and hang it to dry. Do not tumble dry at any point.

A claim we are not making yet
We have not published a description of how the outer seam on this cloth is finished, because the mill certificate is not yet in our hands. Until it is, this page will not use the trade term for it, and we would rather lose the sale than write something we cannot show you the paperwork for.
Seven measurements, every size
Taken flat with the garment closed, in centimetres. These are garment measurements, not body measurements — compare them against something you already own rather than against yourself.

Hemming
We will shorten the inside leg before dispatch. Request a length. Altered garments cannot be returned.
If it is between sizes
Unwashed cloth loses waist on the first soak, so the smaller size is usually the right one. Write to us before you order if you are unsure.
Returns
14 days from delivery, unworn and with tags on. How returns work.
Next to it on the rail
Crock 2/5Straight Rinse
The darkest pair we make, and the one that marks the most.
Crock 3/5Straight Mid
The reference pair. Everything else is measured against it.
Crock 4/5Straight Light
Most of the surface indigo is already gone before you get it.
Crock 2/5Straight Black
Sulphur black, not indigo. It greys down rather than going blue.
