What the guarantee is
Every item sold here is covered by the legal guarantee of conformity for 2 years from delivery, under arts. 128 to 135-septies of the Italian Consumer Code. It is provided by the seller, free of charge, and it exists independently of any commercial warranty. Nothing on this site limits it.
Goods conform if they match the description and quantity we gave, are fit for the purposes such goods are normally used for, are of the quality and correspond to the samples and models we showed you, and are delivered with the accessories and instructions you would reasonably expect.
What you can ask for
- Repair or replacement, at your choice, free of charge and within a reasonable time, unless the option you chose is impossible or imposes disproportionate costs on us.
- Failing that, a proportionate price reduction or termination of the contract with a refund. You may go straight to these where the defect is serious, where we have refused to bring the goods into conformity, or where a defect recurs.
Termination is not available if the lack of conformity is only minor. We never charge you for postage, labour or materials in connection with a conformity claim.
Proof, and the first year
Any lack of conformity that becomes apparent within one year of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless proved otherwise or unless the presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods. In practice, in the first twelve months you do not have to demonstrate anything about the cause. Between the first and second year the presumption no longer runs, but the guarantee does.
How to make a claim

- We reply within one working day and, where a return is needed, we send a prepaid label. A conformity claim never costs you the postage.
- We aim to repair or replace within 14 days of receiving the item, and we will tell you at the outset if a particular repair will take longer.
Two things that are not defects
Denim behaves in two ways that customers reasonably mistake for faults. Both are inherent characteristics of the material, and neither is a lack of conformity — but only on one condition, which we state before we state the position itself.
The condition. We rely on the position below only where the relevant figure was published on the product page before you bought: the indigo transfer grade with its test method, or the expected shrinkage in both directions. Where a figure was not published, we do not rely on this position at all and we treat the complaint as an ordinary conformity claim. Our own publication checks refuse to render a product record that is missing either figure, so in practice this never arises — but it is the customer’s protection, not ours, so it is written down here.
Indigo transfer
Indigo is a surface dye. It sits on the outside of the yarn and, on a deep pair, some of it will move onto pale upholstery, bags, footwear linings and skin during the first weeks of wear. That is the dye behaving as the dye behaves, not a manufacturing fault, and it is why every product page carries a grade from 1 to 5 measured under ISO 105-X12, with the fixed wording that goes with that grade. It appears again on the matrix, on the line in your bag, and once more at checkout when anything graded 1 or 2 is in the order.
A garment that transfers far more than its published grade would predict is a different matter, and that is a conformity claim. Tell us and we will send you the test record for the batch.
Shrinkage of unwashed cloth
Cloth that has never been washed shrinks the first time it gets wet. Our unwashed styles are cut long for exactly that reason and each one publishes the expected loss in length and in waist before you buy. A pair that shrinks within the published figures is conforming. A pair that shrinks materially beyond them is not, and we will replace it.

What is not covered
Normal wear, damage from misuse or accident, damage caused by not following the care instructions on the product page — tumble drying in particular — and alterations carried out by anybody other than us. Fading, whiskering and honeycombing on unwashed cloth are the intended behaviour of that cloth and are described as such throughout this site.
Relationship to your other rights
This guarantee sits alongside, and does not replace, your 14-day right of withdrawal. Withdrawal needs no reason and has a short deadline; the guarantee needs a defect and lasts 2 years. You may rely on whichever applies.
If we cannot agree
The routes open to you — the European ODR platform, mediation through the chamber of commerce of Bari, a report to the AGCM, and the courts of your own place of residence — are listed on the terms of sale, and repeated on refunds and disputes.
